Amazing Flood Story
If you haven’t seen it yet, check out this story about the University of Iowa library’s response to rising floodwaters. When I read about the library’s call for volunteers and the number of people who came and volunteered to move all the rare books to safety, I got a little choked up. People always amaze me in times of crisis. The flooding here in the Midwest is terrible. The worst inconvenience I have faced so far is a few annoying detours that delayed me. But seeing things like this and people’s homes under water and farmer’s crops ruined, it puts a few hours delay in perspective.
