Okay, I finished my assignment :-) and posted my response. Once I looked at my list I couldn't believe how few I had to read in school too.

Now Dorian Gray is on my list of "to be read." Although I probably won't be able to swing the Oxford thing.

The Inferno while in Italy must have been romantic and profound. I love the idea of blogging WHERE you read the books. Dorian Gray is INCREDIBLE (Read it while living in Oxford, which seems appropriate). If you can stomach it, I have a good feeling about you and David Copperfield.

That is really funny David, because I have read the Silmarillion probably three times and have given up on Ulysses just as many times.

Well, I guess I've hardly read any of the books people think they should read but don't. But I finished Ulysses, OK? What I can't figure is how anybody who can manage to finish the Silmarillion gives up on Ulysses. What happened there? :^)

(Also, why is it that people who don't read Ulysses, Dubliners, or Portrait of the Artist don't also not read Finnegans Wake? That one's too scary to even buy a copy?)
